Ion, thank you very much for the Bible study. Such lessons are very encouraging for us. We got together with our friends and my family and listened to the lesson translating it into Polish like in the good old times when you were teaching us. I am so thankful for the opportunity to see some of the fruit from three decades of serving in Eastern Europe, Russia and Central Asia. Ion Keptene from Moldova (7th Dan Black Belt Tae Kwon Do) arrived yesterday to teach leadership and discipleship. We first met in 1991 a few weeks after Ion and his key disciple in TKD had trusted Christ and were told by the church leadership to leave sport. I shared with him scripture and person testimony of how God can use sport for His glory and bring many to Christ. Ion and Vasile are greatly used by God, teaching inductive Bible study methods and training young sportsman in Moldova, and many hard places in Asia and around the world. The half hour I spent with them at the Bible Conference in Moscow in 1991 was the best investment I have made in 3 decades of ministry in Europe. Ion and Vasile have key disciples in Moldova who have multiple generations of disciples. Thousands of young athletes are being trained by them and their disciples. They also mentor leaders in most of the 15 former Soviet Republics and many other countries teaching Bible and how to train sportsmen in spiritual and physical disciplines.

Dear pastor Ion,
I finished reading your book Control over your thoughts in Russian and I am thanking the Lord for our encounter. It was truly the answer to my prayer.
I am a fairly new Christian (baptized Nov. 29th, 2009) that was getting more questions and less answers in the local church. I had an address for a different church to check out sometime, but I did not until the Sunday before your seminar started. So that Sunday I was surprised to find myself visiting new church, but as it turned out it was divine appointment. Because I went there that day I was able to join your 3-part evening seminar next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
The theme of the seminar was Senior and Junior Brother: Mentor and Mentored. You walked us through the scripture to show us that:
- Jesus taught the crowd, but concentrated His attention on mentoring His disciples
- He commissioned His disciples to go (act) and make disciples (duplicate what He did)
- His goal is to spread the Kingdom of God like yeast working in the large amount of dough until it is completely risen (Luke 13:21)
During your seminar:
- I received many answers to my numerous questions that had biblical foundation
- I realized that evangelization is the beginning, not the end of the walk with Jesus
- I bought your book that helped me tremendously to deal with the thoughts of jealousy, envy, real and perceived hurts
- I was introduced to a new way of studying the Bible called inductive method when you pay special attention who, what when which restricts making wrong inferences
After and now:
- I learn and teach what i learned to others to practice mentor/mentored commission
- I try to apply biblical truths to my life
- I try to relate to people more and find out how i can help them
- I seek God more and i need His guidance more
- I yearn to hear Him more

I am so glad to hear from you. Firstly let me start by saying a big thank you to you for totally yielding everything to the Lord. I was very touched by the sermon you gave at the conference. It was not because of any clever use of words but by the literal presence of the Spirit of God which I felt as you started to speak. I will be very honest and say I was not expecting what I got from you, but God has a funny way of letting us know not to assume things when He is in it.
I rededicated my life to the Lord 4 years ago and had a wonderful experience with our Lord Jesus Christ. During the past few months I have been really struggling with my faith because of a lot of things that is going on in my family. I was not originally going to come to the conference but Mark told me I needed to be there so I registered my name. when you spoke, I just felt like that message was just for me and as if you were speaking to me only. I have been so very humbled and changed by the words the Lord has spoken through you. And I would love to know when you publish your book because of the impact I know it is going to have in my life and the next step which God wants me to take.
You may not know how much you have impacted me (not just by the powerful testimony and wisdom but also by watching you for that brief time) but I pray that God continue to use you for many more years and Bless you and your household in Jesus name. You are a true man of God!
